  • Who are the people that work for Dogs Love Walks? Will I get to meet them?
    Our dedicated team of Pet Care Professionals come from a variety of backgrounds with the common passion for animal care. We require a thorough screening process, background and reference checks, and their adherence to the Dogs Love Walks standards of exceptional pet care. You will be able to meet your Pet Care Professional during your Meet and Greet.
  • How do you manage keys?
    We'd like to keep you in control of your keys. We highly recommend purchasing a lock-box from us or anywhere of your choosing. You will have your own code which we can use to access the keys to your home. If this does not work, we are happy to discuss a system that works for you and your home.
  • What areas do you serve?
    Currently, we service South Pasadena, Pasadena, Alhambra, Highland Park, Eagle Rock, Glendale, Altadena, and surrounding areas. We are ever-expanding and do accept requests for new areas. Don't be shy!
  • What are Dogs Love Walks’ credentials?
    Dogs Love Walks is a member of Pet Sitters Associates. We are licensed, bonded, insured, and background checked. We will gladly share our credentials and client references upon request.
  • How do I book an walk or pet care visit?
    For the first visit, you can create an account and schedule any pet care appointment from the main page on our website under “Schedule Service”. Once your account is created, you can Login by clicking "Login" on our website to schedule all services in the future.
  • How much notice do you need?
    We appreciate as much advance notice as possible. We cannot guarantee service with less than 48 hours notice. If we are able to accomodate, a Late Booking Fee of $10 per service will be added.
  • Do I need to leave a tip for my Pet Care Professionals?
    While tips are not required or expected, we encourage you to leave tips for your Pet Care Professional(s) if you feel that their service was exceptional. This amount will go directly to them.
  • What kind of animals do you care for?
    We care for dogs, cats, rabbits, fish, snakes, birds, frogs, guinea pigs, ferrets, pigs, turtles, iguanas... Shall we go on?
  • Why use our Pet Care Professionals to walk your dogs?
    Dogs love and need exercise! Walking not only helps with weight management and overall health, but it also gives your dog a potty break, leash training and can decrease problem behaviors that occur from being bored or couped up inside all day. Because our walks are structured, meaning we positively emphasize good leash behavior, your dogs are also getting a much-needed mental workout as well!
  • Will you be walking my dog with other dogs?
    No, we do not walk multiple dogs from different homes or do pack walks.
  • I have more than one dog. Is there an extra fee for multiple dogs on a walk?
    We happily accommodate multiple dogs! In order to best provide for them and compensate our Pet Care Professional team for added effort, we charge a nominal $5 per additional pet, per service.
  • Does the same person walk my dog?
    We do our best to have the primary Pet Care Professional care for your pets, but in the case he/she is unavailable, you'll have the opportunity to meet with another Pet Care Professional if you have not already, we can send another trusted member of our team, or we can offer a credit or refund.
  • What happens when it rains or is extremely hot outside?
    In the case of extreme heat or rain, based on your pet's tolerance of the elements, we will adjust our visit accordingly and notify you.
  • Can you let me know how my dog did on his walk while I’m away?
    Of course! We will send you a thorough update along with one or more pictures of your pets for every service! The visits are also time- and GPS-tracked for maximum accountability and transparency.
  • Why use our Pet Care Professionals for in-home pet sitting?
    Your pet is most comfortable and feels the safest at your home, so why disrupt that? In-home pet sitting allows your pet to keep his or her daily routine and avoid any stress that could come from being boarded in a small, unfamiliar kennel while you’re away.
  • What if I have multiple pets that need taken care of?
    No problem! We happily accommodate multiple pets! In order to best provide for them and compensate our Pet Care Professional team for added effort, we charge a nominal $5 per additional pet, per service.
  • Can I schedule a specific time to have my pet taken care of?
    All of our appointments are booked in time blocks. For example, if you selected the Morning block 8:00am-11:0am, a Pet Care Professional would begin your service during this time period. We do not accept exact time requests, but maintaining your pets' routine is important to us and we will make every effort to accommodate all scheduling requests.
  • If my pet has an accident, will you clean it up?"
    Of course! We happily clean up any spills, messes or accidents that occur during your scheduled service period.
  • What if my pet becomes ill or injured during a visit?
    In the event of a medical emergency, we will first do our best to get in touch with you and the emergency contact. If we can't, Dogs Love Walks and designated Pet Care Professionals are authorized by client to seek emergency veterinary care.
  • Does the same person care for my pets?
    We do our best to have the primary Pet Care Professional care for your pets, but in the case he/she is unavailable, you'll have the opportunity to meet with another Pet Care Professional if you have not already, we can send another trusted member of our team, or we can offer a credit or refund.
  • Do you administer medication?
    Yes. We will attempt to administer medications (pills or drops) as directed but cannot be held responsible for complications that arise as a result. If you have such an animal, we will thoroughly discuss this with you prior to services rendered.
  • What is the Overnight Stay schedule?
    Typically, a Pet Care Professional will arrive to your home between 5:00pm and 8:00pm to feed and walk or play with your pet. The Pet Care Professional will return by 10:00pm for the sleepover portion of the Overnight Stay, which are generally from 10pm-6am. In the morning, your pet will be given breakfast and walked or played with again before the Pet Care Professional leaves for the day.
  • What do I need to provide for an Overnight Stay?
    Think of us as a temporary member of the family during Overnight Stays. We ask you provide a comfortable and clean place for us to sleep and to let us know if your fur-babies would like to sleep in bed with us!
  • Do you do every other day visits for cats?
    For health of your fur-baby, we require one 30-minute visit or two 20-minute visits for cats and all other small pets. For dogs, we require at least two 30-minute visits a day.
  • Can you let me know how my pet is doing while I’m away?
    Of course! We will send you a thorough update along with one or more pictures of your pets for every service! The visits are also time- and GPS-tracked for maximum accountability and transparency.
  • Is there a fee for the initial Meet and Greet?
    No, the initial Meet and Greet is on us!
  • How do I pay?
    We accept ACH/e-check and credit/debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover). Dogs Love Walks does not accept checks. Payments will be processed through our client portal.
  • When is payment due?
    Typically, payment is due one day prior to your first service date. Payment for Overnight Stays and Holidays will involve a 50% non-refundable deposit when the reservation has been confirmed. The remaining balance will be charged one day prior to the start date.
  • What is your cancellation policy?
    Once we receive your cancellation request, only services scheduled for the next 24 hours are billable and non-refundable. All other cancellation requests, except for Overnight Stay and Holiday deposits, can be credited or refunded.
  • How do I cancel an appointment?
    Cancellation requests can be made directly on our client portal. If you need to cancel an appointment with less than 24 hours notice, please contact us directly at info@dogslovewalks.co or (562) 286-1587.
  • Are there holiday fees?
    Yes, during in-demand times of the year, an additional $10 fee will be added to each service for the following holiday periods: New Year Holiday, Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday, President’s Day Holiday, Easter Holiday, Memorial Day Holiday, 4th of July Holiday, Labor Day Holiday, Indigenous People’s Day Holiday, Thanksgiving Holiday, Winter Holiday. Other dates may qualify for additional holiday charges. This is a way for us to reward our pet sitters who are giving of their holiday time.
  • Will I get a refund if I leave later or return home earlier than expected?
    No, please understand that we have made time for your visits and may have turned other people down to allow time for your pets.
